According to Forbes.com gay marriage would provide $16 billion, 800 million to the economy - if gay marriage were allowed. Kind of squashing the idea that Republicans have put forward that gay marriages would hurt small business by increasing costs for spousal benefits.
WTF indeed.
That's assuming gays have big straight style weddings. Which I'm sure they probably will and be just fabulous.
If it was me though, I'm more like my friends who would just have a small ceremony.
Still, it's ridiculous that that the Republicans are saying it will loose money for the state in the long term.
